Rabat Hosts the Annual Tourism Congress

ANVR 2025: The Congress makes its debut in Rabat

The Dutch Federation of the Tourism Industry (ANVR) will hold its annual congress in Morocco for the first time from November 13 to 16, 2025, under the theme “Connecting,” as announced by the Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT).

Organized in Rabat in partnership with the ONMT, this event will bring together over 220 Dutch tourism decision-makers, including leaders from tour operators, airlines, financial institutions, insurance companies, media, and academia.

A Strategic Showcase for Moroccan Tourism

The congress represents a unique opportunity to promote Morocco as a destination, providing an ideal platform for professional exchanges, the creation of business synergies, and strengthening Rabat’s position as a prime destination for travelers from the Benelux region.

According to Achraf Fayda, General Director of the ONMT, “By hosting ANVR 2025, Morocco reaffirms its status among major global tourist destinations and positions Rabat, the City of Light and cultural capital, as a hub for European travel leaders.”

Robust Tourism Growth from the Benelux

The congress takes place amidst a positive momentum for Moroccan tourism: by the end of August 2025, tourist arrivals from the Benelux have shown an increase of 11% for Belgian visitors and 14% for Dutch visitors compared to 2024.

New Amsterdam-Rabat Air Route

On the sidelines of the congress, Transavia has launched a new direct flight from Amsterdam to Rabat, operating twice a week (Thursday and Sunday). This connection facilitates business tourism and short stays while allowing travelers to explore key cities in northern and central Morocco: Tangier, Chefchaouen, Fes, and Meknes.

ONMT: A Driver of Tourist Attractiveness

With this initiative, the ONMT confirms its strategic role in attracting and retaining high-potential European markets, placing Rabat and Morocco on the map of influential destinations for professionals and travelers alike.
