Rachid Talbi El Alami Participates in an International Forum on the Future of the Mediterranean in Granada

President of the House of Representatives Participates in Mediterranean Future Forum in Granada
Rachid Talbi El Alami, the President of the House of Representatives and Vice-President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean (AP of the UpM), is participating in an international forum focused on the future of the Mediterranean, taking place from April 2 to April 4 in Granada. This event is held under the auspices of the Spanish presidency of the AP of the UpM.
The forum addresses significant issues facing the Mediterranean region, including migration movements, climate change, youth employment, and gender equality.
On Wednesday, a symbolic initiative took place with the planting of an olive tree from the region of each participant in the garden of the Palace of Charles V. This action is part of the initiative titled “The Garden of Peace: the Olive Tree as a Universal Symbol of Peace.”
During the first session, discussions focused on the alliance of civilizations and stability in the region. The program also includes talks on common challenges in the Mediterranean, such as migration, climate change, youth employment, and gender equality.
The Moroccan parliamentary delegation, chaired by Mr. Talbi El Alami, also includes Mohammed Zidouh, the president of the cultural committee of the AP of the UpM.
The Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean is a regional parliamentary organization consisting of 43 countries from both the northern and southern shores of the Mediterranean.
