Samuel Eto’o Re-elected as Head of FECAFOOT

Eto’o Re-elected for a Second Four-Year Term
Former Cameroonian international Samuel Eto’o was re-elected as president of the Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT) on Saturday, following the elective general assembly. As the sole candidate in the running, the former star of the Indomitable Lions secured a convincing victory with 85 votes out of 87, granting him a second four-year term.
A Vote Held in a Tense Context
This re-election comes amidst a heated standoff between FECAFOOT and the Ministry of Sports, which had called for the annulment of the electoral process, citing "irregularities" and "non-compliance with legal standards."
FECAFOOT Sticks to the Electoral Schedule
Despite the objections, the Federation proceeded with its general assembly on November 29, asserting that the election would be conducted under the supervision of representatives from FIFA and CAF to ensure transparency and legitimacy of the results.
