Saudi Arabia: Dismantling of Three Drug Trafficking Networks Involving State Officials

A true thunderbolt has shaken Saudi Arabia! Authorities have carried out a large-scale operation successfully dismantling three criminal networks involved in drug trafficking across the provinces of Asir, Jizan, and Ash-Sharqiya. This operation, orchestrated thanks to precise intelligence gathered by security services, highlights the extent of this sprawling trafficking.

The most shocking aspect of this case is the involvement of several state officials. Among the 19 individuals arrested, there are five agents from the Ministry of Interior, seven members of the Tax and Customs Authority, and three representatives from the Ministry of Defense. These networks were not only circulating drugs; they were also engaged in laundering the massive profits generated by their illegal activities.

In light of the seriousness of the case, Saudi authorities have initiated legal proceedings against the suspects, who have now been transferred to the relevant public prosecutor’s office for judgment.
