Severe thunderstorms and intense heatwave expected in several provinces of the Kingdom from August 15 to 18.

Severe Weather Warning in Morocco: Heatwave and Thunderstorms Expected
The General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) warns of thunderstorms accompanied by hail and strong wind gusts, as well as a heatwave with temperatures soaring between 39°C and 47°C from Friday, August 15, to Monday, August 18, across various regions of the Kingdom.
According to an orange weather alert bulletin, thunderstorms bringing hail and heavy rainfall (ranging from 15 to 30 mm) are anticipated on Friday from 4 PM to midnight in the provinces of Khénifra, Khouribga, Settat, Youssoufia, Al Haouz, Marrakech, and Rehamna.
Additionally, elevated temperatures will start to be recorded on Friday, with forecasts indicating highs between 42°C and 46°C in the provinces of Ouezzane, Taounate, Sidi Kacem, Moulay Yacoub, Fès, Settat, Béni Mellal, Khouribga, Fquih Ben Salah, El Kelaâ des Sraghna, Rehamna, Chichaoua, Marrakech, Youssoufia, Taroudant, and Guelmim.
From Friday to Monday, the provinces of Tata, Assa-Zag, Es-Semara, Boujdour, Aousserd, and Oued Ed-Dahab will experience scorching temperatures ranging from 44°C to 47°C.
During the weekend, heat peaks between 43°C and 47°C will affect the provinces of Ouezzane, Larache, Kénitra, Sidi Slimane, Sidi Kacem, Fquih Ben Salah, Settat, Rehamna, Marrakech, El Kelaâ des Sraghna, and Taroudant. Concurrently, temperatures between 40°C and 44°C are forecasted for the provinces of Tanger-Assilah, Chefchaouen, Meknès, Taounate, Moulay Yacoub, Khémisset, Salé, Khouribga, Khénifra, Settat, Benslimane, Sidi Bennour, Youssoufia, Safi, Essaouira, Chichaoua, Al Haouz, and Guelmim.
Finally, from Sunday to Monday, the provinces of Fahs-Anjra, Tétouan, Al Hoceima, Oujda-Angad, Berkane, Taourirt, Guercif, Taza, Nador, and Driouch will also experience high temperatures ranging from 39°C to 44°C.
On Monday, temperatures will once again range between 39°C and 44°C in the provinces of Chefchaouen, Larache, Ouezzane, Moulay Yacoub, Fès, Taounate, Meknès, Sidi Kacem, Sidi Slimane, Khémisset, Khouribga, Khénifra, Sefrou, El Hajeb, Azilal, Béni Mellal, Fquih Ben Salah, Settat, Rehamna, Marrakech, Youssoufia, El Kelaâ des Sraghna, Al Haouz, Essaouira, Chichaoua, Taroudant, and Guelmim.
