Expanding Cooperation in Water and Environmental Sectors: Canada and Morocco Strengthen Ties
The water and environmental sectors present a significant potential for collaboration between Morocco and Canada, as well as with the entire African continent, emphasized Cheryl Urban, Canada’s Deputy Minister for Africa, Geographical Affairs, and Global Affairs, during her visit to Rabat on Friday.
Following her discussions with Morocco’s Minister of Equipment and Water, Nizar Baraka, Urban clarified that the purpose of her visit was to strengthen the solid partnership between the two countries. She highlighted the importance of leveraging Morocco’s expertise in water resource management and exploring opportunities that the country offers in this field. “There are great opportunities for cooperation between Canada and Morocco to move forward together, collaborating with the rest of Africa in the areas of environment and water,” she added.
For his part, Nizar Baraka discussed Morocco’s water policy and the various avenues for cooperation with Canada in this strategic sector. He expressed his satisfaction with Canada’s technical support and its involvement in projects related to water and irrigation.
