Casablanca-Settat Region Council to Hold Ordinary Session in October 2025

The Casablanca-Settat Region Council will convene its ordinary session for October 2025 on Monday, October 6, at 10:00 AM at the regional headquarters in Casablanca. The agenda includes 31 items focusing on strategic projects in logistics, infrastructure, environmental management, and social development. This session is anticipated to be a pivotal moment in outlining the roadmap for regional development.

A significant portion of the meeting will be dedicated to enhancing the role of Casablanca-Settat as a logistics hub and investment center. Plans are underway to establish the Moroccan Logistics Infrastructure Company for the Casablanca-Settat Region, a public limited company tasked with the planning, management, and marketing of logistics platforms, in collaboration with the Moroccan Logistics Development Agency. The agenda also includes discussions on the financing of the Ahl Loghlam industrial zone through a partnership agreement aimed at finalizing necessary investments. Furthermore, the Council will invest in the Regional Development Company, "Settat Investment and Activity Forum," through the symbolic transfer of a share from the National Institute of Agronomic Research.

In the area of land use and environmental strategy, several key agreements will be reviewed, including the revision of the urban planning and development program for the El Jadida province for the period 2025-2027, in partnership with OCP and the relevant local authorities. A project to manage the Jmamra river aims to protect the city of Benslimane from flooding. The session will also involve signing an agreement with the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Equipment and Water for financing and constructing small dams and hill lakes in the region, along with modifications to the agreement concerning road links connecting the Grand Stadium of Casablanca, located between Benslimane and Mohammedia.

On the financial and environmental front, the Council will review the 2026 budget for the Casablanca-Settat Region, projected surplus programming, and the allocation of investment credits. The regional master plan for managing industrial, medical, non-hazardous pharmaceutical, and agricultural waste will also be on the agenda.

Finally, the social and sports dimension will not be overlooked. The session plans to adopt an agreement for the establishment of an inter-municipal group named "Al Taâdod," responsible for managing the Al Ihssane cemetery in Sidi Hajjaj Oued Hassar. The Council will also discuss support for sports clubs and training for youth in football.

This session in October 2025 exemplifies the Casablanca-Settat Region’s commitment to strengthening its position as Morocco’s economic and logistical powerhouse through a series of initiatives that encompass infrastructure, investment, environment, and sports, laying out a clear vision for regional development in the years ahead.
