Casablanca Stock Exchange Begins Week on a Positive Note

The Casablanca Stock Exchange kicked off the week on a positive note, with its main index, the MASI, advancing by 0.42% to reach 19,288.77 points.

The MASI 20, which tracks the 20 most liquid stocks, saw a rise of 0.3%, standing at 1,520.62 points. Meanwhile, the MASI ESG, which features companies with the highest ESG ratings as published by Moody’s ESG Solutions, increased by 1% to 1,286.36 points.

In addition, the MASI Mid and Small Cap index, reflecting the performance of small and medium-sized companies, gained 0.36%, reaching 1,890.51 points.

In terms of individual stocks, Lesieur Cristal led the gains with an impressive rise of 8.86% to 381 MAD, followed by Stokvis Nord Afrique (+7.35% to 109.6 MAD), Involys (+6.73% to 195.95 MAD), Taqa Morocco (+5.24% to 2,268 MAD), and Ennakl (+4.85% to 54 MAD).

Conversely, CFG Bank experienced the most significant decline, dropping by 3.49% to 249 MAD, followed by Ciments du Maroc (-2.73% to 1,070 MAD), CIH (-1.93% to 405.5 MAD), Attijariwafa Bank (-1.85% to 731.1 MAD), and Fenie Brossette (-1.72% to 401 MAD).

For context, the MASI had closed the previous Friday with a gain of 1.92%.
