Casablanca Stock Exchange Opens Lower Amid Mixed Performance
On Monday, the Casablanca Stock Exchange began on a downward trend, with its main index, the MASI, declining by 0.24%, closing at 18,558.62 points.
The MASI 20 index, which includes the 20 most liquid stocks, saw a loss of 0.41%, reaching 1,510.59 points. In contrast, the MASI ESG index, which tracks companies with the best ESG ratings according to Moody’s ESG Solutions, rose by 0.45% to 1,264.2 points.
The MASI Mid and Small Cap index, which measures the performance of small and medium-sized enterprises listed on the Casablanca Stock Exchange, fell slightly by 0.05%, settling at 1,796.83 points.
Among individual stocks, Vicenne experienced the largest drop, down 7.46% at 484 MAD, followed by Sanlam Maroc at -6.33% closing at 1,850 MAD, IB Maroc.com at -5.47% at 69 MAD, Label Vie at -4.12% at 4,305 MAD, and Jet Contractors down by 3.92% to 2,426 MAD.
On the other hand, the sharpest gains were seen in BMCI, which rose by 9.58% to 569.8 MAD, Sonasid up 5.51% at 2,430 MAD, Fenie Brossette increasing by 4.67% to 448 MAD, Atlantasanad up 3.55% at 142.9 MAD, and CDM, which rose by 3.21% to 998 MAD.
On Friday, the MASI had ended with a 0.2% decline, closing at 18,603.59 points.
