The Casablanca Stock Exchange Opens Higher

Casablanca Stock Exchange Begins the Week on a High Note

The Casablanca Stock Exchange opened on a positive note on Tuesday, with its main index, the MASI, rising by 0.43% to reach 18,417.29 points.

The MASI 20, which tracks the 20 most liquid stocks, gained 0.47%, leveling up at 1,499.57 points. Meanwhile, the MASI ESG, an index representing companies with the highest ESG ratings as published by Moody’s ESG Solutions, climbed 0.69% to 1,250.56 points.

In terms of smaller companies, the MASI Mid and Small Cap index, which serves as a benchmark for listed small and medium enterprises on the Casablanca Stock Exchange, saw a slight increase of 0.02%, reaching 1,777.38 points.

Looking at individual stocks, Ennakl led the gains with a notable increase of 5.27% to 56.5 DH. It was followed by Bank of Africa, which rose by 4.06% to 227.9 DH, and Minière Touissit, up 3.14% to 1,640 DH. Other significant gains were recorded by Cosumar, rising 3.09% to 200 DH, and Aradei Capital, which appreciated by 2.23% to 449.8 DH.

Conversely, Cartier Saada experienced the most substantial decline, dropping 3.68% to 34.01 DH. Other losers included Sonasid, down 2.91% to 2,270 DH, Sodep-Marsa Maroc, which fell 1.53% to 955.20 DH, TGCC, down 1.42% to 875 DH, and Crédit du Maroc, which slipped 0.82% to 942.2 DH.

On Monday, the MASI had closed with a gain of 0.73%.
