Casablanca Stock Exchange Opens in the Red

The Casablanca Stock Exchange began trading on a bearish note on Tuesday, with its main index, the MASI, dropping by 0.44% to 18,354.48 points.

The MASI 20, an index that includes the 20 most liquid stocks, fell by 0.51% to 1,494.97 points. Meanwhile, the MASI ESG, which highlights companies with the best ESG ratings published by Moody’s ESG Solutions, decreased by 0.39% to 1,242.64 points.

Similarly, the MASI Mid and Small Cap index, which tracks the performance of small and medium-sized companies listed on the Casablanca Stock Exchange, declined by 0.4% to 1,775.34 points.

Among individual stocks, BMCI experienced the largest drop, falling by 8.56% to 521 MAD. Other significant declines were noted in Réalisations Mécaniques (-7.22% to 450 MAD), Auto Hall (-3.16% to 92 MAD), Microdata (-2.97% to 785 MAD), and Vicenne (-2.91% to 461.2 MAD).

On the flip side, some stocks showed positive performances. Lesieur Cristal rose by 4.76% to 294.9 MAD, Med Paper increased by 4.35% to 28.8 MAD, Involys gained 1.96% to 234.5 MAD, Ennakl climbed by 1.8% to 55.99 MAD, and IB Maroc.com improved by 1.54% to 71.99 MAD.

On Monday, the MASI had closed down 0.91%.
