Casablanca Stock Exchange Begins Session with Gains

The Casablanca Stock Exchange started its trading session on a positive note Friday, with its main index, the MASI, rising by 0.21% to reach 18,793.65 points.

The MASI 20, which tracks the 20 most liquid stocks, saw an increase of 0.17%, climbing to 1,529.44 points. Meanwhile, the MASI ESG index, representing companies with the highest ESG ratings published by Moody’s ESG Solutions, gained 0.06%, reaching 1,271.27 points.

In contrast, the MASI Mid and Small Cap index, which measures the performance of small and medium-sized enterprises listed on the Casablanca Stock Exchange, experienced a decline of 0.34%, dropping to 1,830.57 points.

In terms of individual stocks, Med Paper led the gains, up by 3.93% to 29.88 DH, followed by Afriquia Gaz (+3.69% to 4,160 DH), BCP (+3.12% to 295.95 DH), Douja Prom Addoha (+2.65% to 38.69 DH), and Cosumar (+2.32% to 211.8 DH), all showing significant increases.

On the downside, Atlantasanad recorded the largest drop, down 4.32% to 147.25 DH, along with CFG Bank (-1.98% to 243.1 DH), Bank of Africa (-1.74% to 226 DH), HPS (-1.7% to 516 DH), and Disty Technologies (-1.62% to 364 DH), which all faced notable declines.

On Thursday, the MASI had closed with a gain of 0.46%.
