The Casablanca Stock Exchange Starts the Day with a Decline

On Thursday, the Casablanca Stock Exchange opened lower, with its benchmark index, the MASI, down by 0.44% at 17,598.22 points.
The MASI 20 index, which includes the 20 most liquid stocks, decreased by 0.49%, reaching 1,431.51 points. Meanwhile, the MASI ESG index, which tracks the performance of companies with the highest ESG ratings according to Moody’s ESG Solutions, fell by 0.55% to 1,206.42 points.
The MASI Mid and Small Cap index, which measures the performance of small and medium-sized listed companies, recorded a decline of 0.68%, settling at 1,759.54 points.
In terms of individual stocks, the most significant declines were seen in Ib Maroc.com (-3.16% to 39.21 MAD), Aluminium du Maroc (-2.75% to 1,733 MAD), Minière Touissit (-2.7% to 1,800 MAD), Delta Holding (-2.53% to 87.72 MAD), and HPS (-2.44% to 600 MAD).
Conversely, some stocks experienced notable increases, including Stokvis Nord Afrique (+9.89% to 62 MAD), TotalEnergies Marketing Maroc (+2.03% to 1,857 MAD), S2M (+1.96% to 480 MAD), CIH (+1.87% to 435 MAD), and LafargeHolcim Maroc (+1.3% to 1,945 MAD).
