The death toll from the explosion at a factory in northern China rises to 7.

The death toll from the explosion that occurred Saturday at a biotechnology plant in northern China has risen to seven, local authorities announced on Sunday.

The authorities stated that one person is still missing following the blast, which took place at Jiabeng Biotechnology in Shanxi province, approximately 400 kilometers west of Beijing.

They added that search and rescue operations are ongoing at the site. The explosion occurred early Saturday morning, and an investigation is underway to determine its causes.
