The DGSN Contributes to Operation “Black Shadow” Against International Drug Trafficking

Spanish authorities have announced the dismantling of a criminal network involved in drug trafficking as part of Operation “Sombra Negra,” thanks to the cooperation of Morocco’s General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) with the Spanish National Intelligence Center (CNI) and several international agencies and organizations. This operation led to the seizure of 57,000 kilograms of cocaine and the arrest of around one hundred individuals. Andalusian government spokesperson Pedro Fernandez noted that the network had an extensive organizational structure spanning Galicia, Portugal, various Spanish provinces, Morocco, and the Canary Islands.

Fernandez emphasized that the operation was conducted with direct support from the UK’s National Crime Agency, an American agency, as well as authorities from Portugal, France, Colombia, Great Britain, and Cape Verde, in addition to Europol and the European Drug Law Enforcement Coordination Center.
