CAF Awards 2025: Celebrating African Football Excellence

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has revealed the final lists of the top three nominees in each men’s category for the CAF Awards 2025, highlighting a strong presence from Moroccan football representatives.

According to a statement from CAF, this prestigious ceremony will take place in Rabat, Morocco, on November 19, starting at 7:00 PM local time (6:00 PM GMT). The event aims to honor the outstanding performances and achievements that have defined African football this year.

Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi (Paris SG) has been nominated for the “African Player of the Year,” making the top three alongside Egypt’s Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) and Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen (Galatasaray).

In the Best Goalkeeper category, Moroccan keepers Yassine Bounou (Al Hilal) and Mounir Mohamedi (RS Berkane) join South Africa’s Ronwen Williams (Mamelodi Sundowns) among the nominees.

For the “Interclub Player of the Year,” Moroccan players Mohamed Chibi (Pyramids FC) and Oussama Lamlioui (Renaissance Berkane) have been nominated, alongside the Congolese Fiston Mayele.

In the “Coach of the Year” category, Mohamed Ouahbi and Walid Regragui are nominated alongside Cape Verdean Budista, making up the top three for this title.

The two rising stars of the Atlas Lions, Othmane Maamma (Watford) and Abdellah Ouazane (Ajax), will compete with South Africa’s Tylon Smith (Queens Park Rangers) for the title of “Young Player of the Year.”

In the “National Team of the Year” category, both the senior national team and the U-20 national team have been nominated for the title of “Men’s National Team of the Year,” alongside the Cape Verdean national team. Meanwhile, Renaissance Sportive de Berkane will vie for the African Club of the Year award with Pyramids FC and Mamelodi Sundowns.
