The Five Keys of Al Quds: Moroccan Attachment in Action

SILEJ 2025: A Moroccan Animated Series Dedicated to Al Quds

The animated series “The Five Keys of Al Quds,” premiered Wednesday in Casablanca during the 3rd edition of the International Children and Youth Exhibition (SILEJ), highlights the profound attachment of Moroccans to the holy city of Al Quds.

Produced by the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency, this series is an integral part of the educational application “Hayya,” designed for children and adolescents to enhance their understanding of the history, culture, and symbolism of this iconic city.

An Initiatory Journey Through the Holy City

“The Five Keys of Al Quds” follows the adventures of five children from different nationalities and faiths, united in a cultural competition. Together, they discover the city of Al Quds for the first time, guided by the grandson of Haj Moussa Al-Rida, a Moroccan resistance fighter who supported Saladin during the historic liberation of the city.

Inspired by a story rich in history and symbolism, the series chronicles the group’s journey from Rabat to Al Quds, passing through a magical door that opens only with five keys and an olive branch. Throughout this initiatory quest, the children explore sacred sites, ancient alleys, and vibrant markets, while discovering the values of peace, brotherhood, and tolerance.

A Digital Approach to Transmit Universal Values

In his address, Mohamed Salem Cherkaoui, the director responsible for managing the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency, emphasized that this series aims to raise awareness among young generations about the values of solidarity and Morocco’s connection to Al Quds and Palestine.

The use of new technologies aligns with the desire to make the message accessible and interactive. The “Hayya” application enables young users to participate in contests, ask questions, and explore the culture of Al Quds in a fun and educational way.

For her part, Douaâ Charif, director of the “Hayya” project, stated that the platform aspires to promote the values of coexistence and intercultural dialogue.
To reach an international audience, content is available in Arabic, French, and English.

An Educational and Interactive Application

The “Hayya” application offers a wide variety of playful and educational content, including:

  • 3D comic episodes,

  • augmented reality digital stickers,

  • and interactive mascots.

These digital tools invite children on an immersive journey to explore the spiritual and cultural heritage of Al Quds while promoting learning through play.

SILEJ, a Showcase of Youth Culture

The 3rd edition of the International Children and Youth Exhibition (SILEJ), which continues until Sunday in Casablanca, showcases over 45,000 titles dedicated to youth.
The event gathers scholars, authors, and creators from Morocco and abroad to discuss diverse topics: comics, children’s literature, digital content creation, and educational innovation.

Through this initiative, the exhibition confirms its role as a platform for creativity, education, and intercultural dialogue for young generations.
