The Five Keys of Al Quds: The Moroccan Attachment in Animation

SILEJ 2025: A Moroccan Animated Series Dedicated to Al Quds
The animated series “The Five Keys of Al Quds,” premiered on Wednesday in Casablanca as part of the 3rd edition of the International Children’s and Youth Fair (SILEJ), highlights Moroccans’ deep connection to the holy city of Al Quds.
Produced by the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency, this series is an integral part of the educational app “Hayya,” designed for children and teenagers to enhance their understanding of the history, culture, and symbolism of this iconic city.
An Initiatory Journey Through the Holy City
“The Five Keys of Al Quds” follows the adventures of five children from various nationalities and faiths, united in a cultural competition. Together, they explore the city of Al Quds for the first time, guided by the grandson of Haj Moussa Al-Rida, a Moroccan resistor who supported Saladin during the historic liberation of the city.
Inspired by a tale rich in history and symbolism, the series chronicles the group’s journey between Rabat and Al Quds, traversing a magical door that only opens with five keys and an olive branch. Throughout this initiatory quest, the children delve into the sacred sites, ancient alleyways, and bustling markets of the city, all while embracing the values of peace, brotherhood, and tolerance.
A Digital Approach to Convey Universal Values
In his speech, Mohamed Salem Cherkaoui, director in charge of managing the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency, emphasized that this series aims to raise awareness among younger generations about Morocco’s values of solidarity and attachment to Al Quds and Palestine.
The use of new technologies aligns with the desire to make the message accessible and interactive. The “Hayya” app allows young users to engage in competitions, ask questions, and explore Al Quds’ culture in an entertaining and educational manner.
Meanwhile, Douaâ Charif, director of the “Hayya” project, clarified that the platform aims to promote values of coexistence and intercultural dialogue.
To reach an international audience, the content is available in Arabic, French, and English.
An Educational and Interactive Application
The “Hayya” app offers a wide variety of fun and educational content, including:
3D animated episodes,
augmented reality digital stickers,
and interactive mascots.
These digital tools invite children on an immersive journey to discover the spiritual and cultural heritage of Al Quds, while encouraging learning through play.
