The Future Leaders Challenge Arrives in Ben Guerir, Morocco, on June 2 and 3, 2025: A Launchpad for the New Generation of Hospitality Leaders Ahead of Major Global Events.

Ben Guerir, May 26, 2025
Morocco is set to host the national edition of the Future Leaders Challenge (FLC) on June 2 and 3, 2025 at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) in Ben Guerir. This two-day event will bring together over 150 of the brightest students, industry leaders, government representatives, and academic luminaries. Together, they will tackle concrete strategic challenges in the hospitality and tourism sector while competing for a spot in the MEA (Middle East and Africa) Regional Finals in Dubai.
A Hub of Human Capital at the Intersection of Key Sectors
By uniting academia, government bodies, and industry, the Future Leaders Platform fosters a community where education meets opportunity, and where talents are equipped to navigate the changing landscapes of the sector. Through dialogue among institutional leaders, policymakers, and executives, the FLC Morocco ensures that graduates are prepared not only to lead and innovate but also to exceed global standards with vision and determination.
A Strategic Opportunity for Morocco
As the Kingdom prepares to host the Africa Cup of Nations and the FIFA World Cup 2030, these flagship events present an exceptional opportunity to position Morocco as a regional model of excellence in tourism, hospitality, and service. To meet these challenges, it is imperative to strengthen local skills, professionalize careers in hospitality, and prepare a new generation of talent to surpass international standards. The Future Leaders Challenge arrives at a crucial time, serving as a tangible lever to accelerate growth in this sector and contribute to Morocco’s enduring attractiveness on the global stage.
Leadership in Action
At the heart of FLC Morocco is a Strategic Council comprised of senior executives, including Imad Barrakad (SMIT), Frédéric Feijs (Radisson Hotel Group), Hubert Ummels (Founder of FLC), Abbas Azzouzi (Experienciah Morocco), Raouf Ben Chedli (Hilton), Hamid Bentahar (President, National Confederation of Tourism CNT), Laila Bensouda (Madaëf Sports & Events), Joafar Mrhardy (TMSA), Souleymane Khol (Accor), and Karim Sentici (SHB). Their expertise ensures that the program remains closely aligned with national priorities and global best practices.
Catalyzing Transformation and Impact
Through hands-on workshops, expert panels, and the student competition itself, participants will sharpen their strategic, operational, and cultural intelligence skills. A special meeting of the Alliance of Educational Institution Directors will also refine curricular programs to align with the future needs of the industry.
"In a globalized world, hospitality and tourism can be drivers of economic growth, inclusion, and innovation—if we join forces," states Hubert Ummels. "The FLC unites government, industry, educators, and young leaders around a shared agenda for human capital, rooted locally and connected globally."
