The Government Council Reviews 12 Draft Decrees on Thursday

Government Council Meeting Scheduled for Thursday
A Government Council meeting will take place this Thursday, presided over by the Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, as confirmed by a statement from the Government presidency.
Transformation of the ANP into a Public Limited Company
At the beginning of the meeting, the Council will review a draft law proposing the transformation of the National Ports Agency (ANP) into a public limited company. The bill also amends the law governing ports and regulates the establishment of the ANP as well as the Ports Operating Company.
Twelve Draft Decrees on the Agenda
Following this, the Council will continue its work by examining a total of twelve draft decrees. The first eleven relate to setting the effective dates for the powers of Territorial Health Groups (GST) across regions of the Kingdom. The final decree concerns the modification and addition to the implementation text related to the Value Added Tax (VAT) as outlined in Title III of the General Tax Code.
Morocco-Saudi Arabia Customs Cooperation Agreement
Next on the agenda, the Council will discuss a customs cooperation agreement signed in Mecca on March 5, 2025, between the Moroccan Customs and Indirect Taxes Administration and the Saudi Authority for Zakat, Tax, and Customs. This agreement aims to facilitate mutual recognition of the status of Authorized Economic Operator. A draft law approving this agreement will also be examined.
Senior Position Appointments
The meeting will conclude with the review of a series of proposals for senior appointments, in accordance with Article 92 of the Constitution.
