The Niger CDG and CDI Strengthen Their Partnership through a Cooperation Agreement

Last Monday in Rabat, the Moroccan Caisse de Dépôt et de Gestion (CDG) and the Republic of Niger’s Caisse des Dépôts et d’Investissements (CDI) signed a cooperation agreement aimed at strengthening their partnership and promoting the exchange of expertise in several strategic areas.

The agreement, signed by Khalid Safir, the General Director of the CDG, and Mourjanatou Assoumane, the General Director of the CDI of Niger, is part of efforts to enhance South-South cooperation, a key strategic focus for Morocco’s positioning in Africa, according to a statement from the CDG.

As a leading institution in mobilizing national savings for development, the CDG plays a crucial role in strengthening the capacities of its African counterparts by providing them with its expertise and know-how.

Through this partnership, the CDG reaffirms its commitment to supporting economic and social transformation dynamics, particularly by backing the structural initiatives carried out by deposit institutions, such as those of the CDI of Niger.

This partnership also aims to strengthen the fraternal ties and strategic cooperation between the two institutions. It aspires to deepen exchanges and explore new collaborative opportunities by leveraging their respective expertise to address common development challenges.

During the meeting, Mr. Safir emphasized the importance of this cooperation for developing financial instruments tailored to the needs of African economies and for supporting high-impact investment projects. He reaffirmed the CDG’s willingness to put its expertise at the service of the CDI of Niger, facilitating the transfer of skills and sharing best practices in fund management and local territory and community policies.

For her part, Ms. Assoumane praised the achievements of the CDG and its central role in the economic and financial landscape of Morocco. She expressed the CDI of Niger’s desire, as a newly created institution, to draw inspiration from this success trajectory while relying on its new missions and the strategy it is implementing.
