The Spanish Police Commends the Strength of Its Cooperation with Moroccan Security Services

The Spanish National Police praised the strength of the cooperative relations with the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance this Wednesday, emphasizing that it is a crucial pillar in the joint fight against terrorism.
In a statement, the Spanish police noted that this strategic partnership, based on mutual trust and the constant exchange of information, has enabled the neutralization of serious threats to the national security of both countries.
Since 2014, operational coordination between Moroccan and Spanish security services has resulted in more than 30 joint operations, leading to the arrest of approximately 150 individuals involved in terrorist activities, including 83 on Spanish territory.
The statement also highlighted that this cooperation reached a decisive turning point with Operation Azteca, conducted on March 14, 2014, which dismantled one of the largest networks for recruiting and sending fighters to Syria and the Sahel region, along with the arrest of eight individuals of various nationalities.
