Souss-Massa Regional Multi-Services Company Holds General Assembly Meeting

The Ordinary General Assembly of the Souss-Massa Regional Multi-Services Company (SRMS) convened yesterday, Wednesday, at the headquarters of the Souss-Massa region, presided over by Mr. Saïd Amazazi, the wali of the region and governor of the Agadir Ida-Outanane prefecture. The meeting aimed to review the operational performance for the year 2024 and to approve the financial accounts for the fiscal year ending December 31.

At the outset of the session, the wali emphasized that the SRMS embodies the new dynamics driven by advanced regionalization, characterized by a transition from a model with multiple stakeholders to that of a single regional operator covering three essential sectors: drinking water, liquid sanitation, and electricity. He clarified that this integrated approach aims to provide a uniform and high-performing service, in line with the demands for transparency and efficiency.

In this context, participants discussed several structural issues upon which the company bases its strategy to ensure a smooth and effective institutional transition. The need for unifying technical and financial frameworks among various stakeholders was highlighted as a key step in harmonizing practices and ensuring the consistency of management methods on a regional scale. In the same vein, the importance of maintaining service continuity during this transition phase was extensively underscored, to ensure a regular supply of drinking water, electricity, and liquid sanitation services, while preserving service quality. Finally, contributions stressed the necessity of consolidating effective and balanced governance capable of supporting ongoing changes and maintaining the financial sustainability of managed services, thus ensuring continued investment and a sustainable balance between economic performance and the requirements of sustainable development.

After thoroughly reviewing and discussing the reports related to the fiscal year 2024, the General Assembly unanimously approved all financial and management documents presented to them. This approval included the annual management report reflecting the company’s performance for the past year and the auditor’s report, which provided an unreserved opinion, attesting to the reliability and transparency of the accounts. Furthermore, the Assembly authorized the allocation of the net income according to sound financial governance rules and renewed the auditor’s mandate for an additional three years, thereby expressing the commitment to maintaining rigorous financial oversight in accordance with best practices.

Thus, the Souss-Massa Regional Multi-Services Company continues to establish itself as a model for integrated regional management of essential services, combining economic performance, operational continuity, and sustainable development requirements.
