U17 CAN Final: Morocco Ready to Make History Against Mali

The head coach of Morocco’s U17 national team, Nabil Baha, stated on Thursday in Casablanca that his players are determined to make history by becoming the first Atlas Cubs to win the Africa U17 Cup of Nations and bring the trophy home.

In a press conference ahead of the grand final against Mali, scheduled for Saturday at 15:00 at El Bachir Stadium in Mohammedia, Baha emphasized the motivation and ambition of his players: “There are many factors to consider in a final, but our players are motivated and aware of the historic opportunity that lies before them.”

The Moroccan coach stressed the importance of details in such a match, particularly physical freshness. He also mentioned the pressure surrounding this highly anticipated final for the Moroccan public, while asserting that the team has prepared for all scenarios against a strong opponent.

“Mali is a team that is accustomed to significant African events. We have played against them before; we know their strengths and weaknesses. I have asked my players to enjoy themselves but also to apply the strategies that have led us to victory so far,” he specified.

Regarding the change in the match schedule (initially set for 20:00), Baha assured that his group is ready to adapt quickly, which he views as a key element for hoping to win.

From the players’ side, central defender Adam Soudi expressed the group’s enthusiasm: “This final is a dream for all of us. We will give everything to achieve this victory.”

On the other side, Malian head coach Adama Diallo recognized the significance of this final: “Reaching the final was our objective, but now we must win it. We have progressed well throughout the competition, and we will continue to prepare until the kickoff.”

He also emphasized that Morocco, as the host nation, will benefit from significant local support, but his team is ready to take on this major challenge.
