Uber Returns to Morocco with a Fully Regulated Model

Uber has officially confirmed its return to Morocco after several years of absence, relaunching its services in Casablanca and Marrakech. This comeback is now taking place within a fully compliant regulatory framework, thanks to a model based solely on partnerships with accredited professional transport providers.

Operational in over 70 countries, the platform is embracing a reimagined approach, distinct from its 2015 model, when its activities were halted due to regulatory constraints. This repositioning aims to ensure a sustainable integration into Morocco’s mobility ecosystem while adhering to road transport regulations for passengers.

In an official communication, the Ministry of Transport and Logistics emphasizes that Moroccan legal framework still lacks specific provisions governing intelligent transport applications. Therefore, Uber has decided to rely on pre-authorized partners to ensure transparency and security.

Users can already access UberX and UberXL services in both cities, featuring a comprehensive range of functionalities:
– advance booking;
– multi-destination rides;
– digital payment;
– continuous customer support.

With this structured return, Uber aims to address the growing demand for digital mobility solutions, especially in tourist hubs. The platform asserts its intention to contribute to the modernization of urban transport in Morocco by providing a service standard proven on an international scale.
