Valérie Pécresse Announces Two Cooperation Agreements Between Île-de-France and Moroccan Regions

Strengthening Bilateral Relations: A Meeting in Rabat
The enhancement of bilateral relations was at the forefront of discussions on Tuesday in Rabat between Nasser Bourita, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Living Abroad, and Valérie Pécresse, the President of the Île-de-France region, who is on an official visit to Morocco.
Following their meeting, Ms. Pécresse announced that Morocco will be the first partner country to benefit from two cooperation agreements with the Île-de-France region: one with the Casablanca-Settat region, and the other with the Marrakech-Safi region.
She emphasized that the Île-de-France region had already invested one million euros in pivotal projects in Casablanca-Settat, expressing her delight in inaugurating several of these "remarkable achievements" during her visit. These initiatives primarily focus on digital training, professional integration for young non-graduates—particularly in the restaurant industry—as well as support for startup incubators.
Additionally, the President of Île-de-France announced her forthcoming trip to Marrakech, where she will assess the impact of the aid offered to the Al Haouz region following the earthquake and will sign a second cooperation agreement.
In parallel, Ms. Pécresse reiterated her region’s position in support of Morocco’s sovereignty over its Southern Provinces, emphasizing that the future of the Sahara can only be envisioned within the Moroccan national framework.
This visit, taking place from April 21 to 24, aims to strengthen partnerships across three major areas: innovation, education, and sustainable development, with a significant delegation representing the institutions of the Île-de-France region in attendance.
