Rain and Thunderstorms Expected in Several Regions

The General Directorate of Meteorology has announced that on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, dense cloud cover will bring rains and locally thunderous showers. These precipitation events will primarily affect the northern and central Atlantic plains, the phosphate plateaus, the Oulmès region, the Rif mountains, and the mountainous areas of the Atlas.

Instability in the Southeast Starting in the Afternoon

The Southeast will experience intermittently overcast skies, with scattered rain expected from the afternoon onward, indicating a further deterioration in weather conditions in this part of the country.

Significant Snowfall in Higher Altitudes

Snowfall is anticipated in the High and Middle Atlas regions at elevations above 1,900 meters, leading to notable accumulation in higher areas and an increased risk of road disruptions.

Cold Temperatures and Nighttime Frost

A chilly weather pattern will dominate the mountain ranges, Southeast regions, and High plateaus, accompanied by frosts in the morning and evening. Minimum temperatures will range between:

  • –2 to 5°C in the Atlas, the Rif, the southeast slopes, and the High plateaus;

  • 9 to 16°C in the northern and central Atlantic plains, phosphate and Oulmès plateaus, Rhamna, Souss, Saharan provinces, and in the Mediterranean;

  • 5 to 10°C in other regions.

The overall trend indicates a decrease in temperatures.

Strong Winds and Rough Seas Along Several Coasts

Strong gusts of wind are expected to affect the northern and central Atlantic coasts as well as the western Rif region. In terms of sea conditions, the situation will be as follows:

  • calm to slightly rough in the Mediterranean,

  • slightly rough to rough in the Strait,

  • rough to very rough between Cap Spartel and Tan-Tan,

  • slightly rough to rough elsewhere.
