Weather Forecast for Morocco: Cold Temperatures and Expected Snow
The General Directorate of Meteorology forecasts relatively cold weather across several regions of the Kingdom this Wednesday, particularly in the Atlas Mountains, the Rif, the eastern slopes, and the high plateaus of the Oriental region.
Snow and Rain Expected in Several Areas
Snowfall is anticipated in the heights of the High and Middle Atlas Mountains and in the southern part of the Oriental region, particularly at elevations above 1,400 meters. Additionally, localized rain or thunderstorms are forecasted for the southern part of the Oriental region, while light rain is expected in the northern part of this region, the Atlas Mountains, the eastern Mediterranean coast, and the Atlantic plains between Casablanca and El Jadida.
Low Clouds and Fog Formation
Low clouds accompanied by fog are also expected to develop in the northwest of the Southern provinces, potentially reducing visibility in some areas, especially during the early hours of the day and at night.
Strong Wind Gusts and Dust Storms
Strong wind gusts are also anticipated in the southern part of the Oriental region, the southeast of the country, and in central and southern regions, occasionally accompanied by localized dust storms.
Decreasing Temperatures
Minimum temperatures will range between -8°C and -2°C in the Atlas Mountains and between -2°C and 3°C in the eastern high plateaus. In the extreme south of the Kingdom, temperatures will vary between 12°C and 16°C, while the rest of the country will experience temperatures between 5°C and 11°C.
Maximum temperatures are also expected to decrease in the southern part of the Oriental region, the southeast, and the extreme south of Morocco.
Sea Conditions
The sea will be calm to slightly choppy in the Mediterranean and the Strait, slightly choppy north of Larache, and strong to very strong between Cape Tifilni and Tan-Tan. The rest of the Moroccan coast will experience choppy to rough sea conditions.
