Weather on Thursday in Morocco: Rain, strong winds, and snow in the mountainous areas.

According to the General Directorate of Meteorology, this Thursday will bring relatively cold weather during the morning and night, particularly in the mountainous regions of the Atlas and Rif, as well as in the southeast of the country and the high plateaus.

Rainfall in Several Regions of the Kingdom

Showers or rain are expected in the mountainous areas of the Atlas and their western slopes, the Rif, and the northern and central regions of the country, with some localized precipitation possible in the Oriental region.
Additionally, light, scattered rain is anticipated in the Souss region and the northern provinces of the South.

Snowfall on the Peaks

Snowfall is also forecast for the summits of the High Atlas and Middle Atlas, as well as the eastern high plateaus, due to the drop in temperatures.

Strong Gusts of Wind and Dust Storms

Quite strong gusts of wind are expected over the Atlas mountains, the Oriental region, the central coasts, and the southern provinces, as well as in the western part of the Mediterranean coast, with local dust storms expected in some areas.

Temperatures

Minimum temperatures will range between -6 and 2 °C in the Atlas mountains, between -1 and 6 °C in the Rif, the high plateaus, and the southeast.
They will fluctuate between 12 and 17 °C in the southern provinces and near the central and southern coasts, while remaining between 7 and 11 °C in the rest of the country.
During the day, temperatures are expected to experience a slight rise or remain generally stable.

Sea Conditions

Regarding sea conditions, it will be moderate to rough along the Mediterranean coast and slightly rough in the Strait. It will be moderate to rough between Cap Spartel and Asilah, as well as between Tarfaya and Laâyoune, and rough to very rough along the rest of Morocco’s coasts.
