Moroccan striker Ziyad Baha, a standout at the recent U17 Africa Cup of Nations won by the Atlas Lions, has officially joined the youth teams of Olympique de Marseille (OM) after moving from Real Betis, the French Ligue 1 club announced.

A Promising Journey

Trained at the Malaga CF academy, Baha later joined the youth team of Real Betis. Considered one of the most promising talents of his generation, he particularly shone during the U17 Africa Cup of Nations held in Morocco, scoring four goals, and later at the U17 World Cup in Qatar.

A Strategic Decision for His Career

On his Instagram account, the player explained: “After careful consideration, I chose to take a different path, despite the opportunities to continue at Real Betis. This project aligns better with my ambitions and development.”

Goal: Progress Towards the Professional Squad

By joining OM, Ziyad Baha takes a significant step forward and can continue his training within the Marseille club, ultimately aiming for a position in the professional squad of one of the top clubs in Ligue 1.

Notable Performances with the Atlas Lions

During the last U17 Africa Cup of Nations held on home soil, Baha was a key player for the Moroccan team, scoring a brace against Uganda in the opening match and another brace against South Africa in a 3-1 victory.
