Heavy rains and strong winds expected in several regions of the Kingdom.

The General Directorate of Meteorology has announced the onset of significant weather disturbances, marked by heavy showers, sometimes accompanied by thunderstorms, as well as locally severe winds, affecting several regions of the Kingdom between Wednesday and Thursday.

In an orange-level vigilance alert, the Directorate specifies that substantial rainfall, ranging between 60 and 100 mm, is expected in the provinces and prefectures of Tétouan, Chefchaouen, Larache, Taounate, and Al Hoceïma.
Rainfall levels between 30 and 60 mm are also anticipated in the provinces of Fahs-Anjra, M’diq-Fnideq, Tanger-Assilah, and Ouezzane. These weather conditions are expected to persist from Wednesday, January 28, starting at 11:00 AM, until Thursday, January 29, at 6:00 PM.
Strong Winds Reaching 95 km/h
In addition to the precipitation, the General Directorate of Meteorology forecasts strong to locally severe winds, with gusts ranging from 75 to 95 km/h, affecting a wide array of provinces.
The regions particularly at risk include Chefchaouen, Berkane, Fahs-Anjra, Al Hoceïma, Oujda-Angad, Nador, Guercif, Driouch, M’diq-Fnideq, Tétouan, Taourirt, Boulemane, Taza, Moulay Yacoub, Tata, Ouarzazate, Figuig, Jerada, Ouezzane, Tanger-Assilah, Taroudant, Tiznit, Sidi Kacem, Larache, Taounate, Tinghir, Kénitra, El Hajeb, Ifrane, Midelt, Meknès, Fès, and Sefrou.

In light of these unfavorable weather conditions, the meteorological authorities urge citizens, particularly road users and residents in affected areas, to remain vigilant and take the necessary precautions to avoid any incidents related to these weather disturbances.
