Official Visit of General Berrid to Qatar: A New Step Towards Strengthening Moroccan-Qatari Military Cooperation

General Mohammed Berrid’s Working Visit to Qatar
Under the high instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Supreme Commander and Chief of General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), General Mohammed Berrid, Inspector General of the FAR and Commander of the Southern Zone, undertook a working visit to the State of Qatar from April 19 to 22, 2025.
During this visit, General Berrid held a high-level meeting on Sunday with his Qatari counterpart, General Jassim Ben Mohammed Al Mannai, Chief of Staff of the Qatari Armed Forces. This meeting was followed by a discussion with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense, Saoud Ben Abdelrahmane Ben Hassan Al Thani.
The discussions focused on ways to strengthen military cooperation between the two countries, in alignment with the strategic directives of the highest authorities of the Kingdom of Morocco and the State of Qatar.
Both parties expressed their satisfaction regarding the quality of bilateral military relations, commending the tangible outcomes of this exemplary cooperation, which has become a model of strategic partnership in the Arab world.
As part of his visit, General Berrid also toured several Qatari military facilities, including the Joint Forces Command, the Qatari Army’s communications unit, and the Air Defense Forces. These visits provided valuable insights into the operational capabilities of the Qatari armed forces and explored future avenues for collaboration.
This mission is part of ongoing efforts to deepen ties between the FAR and the Qatari Armed Forces, expanding the scope of cooperation into new strategic areas that serve the shared interests of both nations.
