Spanish Interior Minister Reaffirms Importance of Cooperation with Morocco in Fight Against Organized Crime
On Friday, Spanish Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska reiterated the critical importance of cooperation between Spain and Morocco in the battle against organized crime, particularly drug trafficking. In an interview with "Canal Sur" during the 5th ministerial meeting of the Coalition of European Countries Against Organized Crime, held in Cádiz, Mr. Grande-Marlaska emphasized that this collaboration is essential in addressing current security challenges.
The minister praised the "excellent coordination" between the two nations, stating that this partnership has a direct and positive impact on the fight against criminal networks. He described Morocco as a "strategic and reliable partner," highlighting that it is a key ally with whom Spain engages in close security cooperation, especially in combating drug trafficking and transnational crime.
The results achieved in these areas are attributed to enhanced cooperation and ongoing coordination between the authorities of both countries. According to Mr. Grande-Marlaska, this partnership plays a decisive role in maintaining stability and security on both shores of the Mediterranean, thereby contributing to the strengthening of regional security.
