New Desalination and Treatment Stations to Ensure Continuity of Drinking Water

Addressing Growing Water Stress: A Sustainable Water Access Program in the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra Region
In response to rising challenges related to water stress, an extensive program has been initiated to ensure sustainable access to drinking water in the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region.
This ambitious project is the result of a partnership among the Ministry of Interior, the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra Region, the Souss-Massa Regional Multi-Service Company (SRM), and the SRM Rabat-Salé-Kénitra. It aims to establish 15 modular stations spread across six provinces: six seawater desalination units and nine brackish water demineralization plants.
Close Technical Supervision
Tasked with operational oversight, SRM Rabat-Salé-Kénitra leverages its expertise in hydraulic infrastructure management to ensure the successful execution of the program, thereby guaranteeing the continuity of essential services.
Stations Already in Operation
Three stations are currently operational:
- Ain Sbit (5 l/s – Khémisset)
- Ameur Chamalia (3 l/s – Sidi Slimane)
