Marrakech-Safi Region: 18 Billion Dirhams to Strengthen Basic Services

Marrakech-Safi Multiservice Regional Company Approves Major Investment Plan
On December 31, 2025, the board of directors of the Marrakech-Safi Multiservice Regional Company approved an extensive investment program covering the period from 2026 to 2030, with a total budget estimated at 18 billion dirhams. The primary aim of this initiative is to secure the supply of drinking water and electricity, as well as to enhance liquid sanitation services, all within the framework of promoting sustainable development in the region.
This plan comes in response to challenges such as dwindling water resources, population growth, and urban expansion. It seeks to address the rising demand for essential services, improve service quality, ensure continuity, and reduce territorial disparities between urban and rural areas.
The planned investments will be distributed across key sectors, allocating 8.8 billion dirhams for drinking water, 4.8 billion dirhams for liquid sanitation, and 4.06 billion dirhams for the electricity sector. These investments will focus on implementing significant structural projects, strengthening and expanding networks, enhancing technical performance, and modernizing infrastructure to meet both current and future regional needs.
In the year 2025 alone, the company invested 3.13 billion dirhams, resulting in the construction of 14 wastewater treatment plants, the commissioning of 33 electrical supply centers, the connection of 372 municipalities to water, electricity, and sanitation networks, as well as the establishment of approximately 87,700 kilometers of networks.
Moreover, the total number of clients served by the Marrakech-Safi Multiservice Regional Company exceeds 2.3 million, including over 1.5 million electricity subscribers and around 810,000 drinking water subscribers. This underscores the vast scope of the company’s operations and its vital role in meeting the essential needs of the population.
In its commitment to continuously improve service quality, the company has enhanced its relationship with users by modernizing reception centers, developing digital platforms, and adopting innovative solutions for managing complaints and tracking cases, all while upgrading its management systems to comply with current national and international standards.
Through this ambitious investment program, the Marrakech-Safi Multiservice Regional Company reiterates its commitment to good governance, the preservation of natural resources, and supporting sustainable regional development, all within the context of ongoing climate and environmental challenges.
