Air Traffic in Morocco 2025: 36.3 Million Passengers

Moroccan airports recorded a traffic of 36.3 million passengers in 2025, marking an 11% increase compared to the previous year, according to the National Airports Office (ONDA). This growth reflects the effectiveness of the national strategy “Airport 2030” and Morocco’s emergence as a regional air hub and a major international destination.
Impact of CAN 2025 on Air Traffic
The success of the African Cup of Nations (CAN) 2025 significantly contributed to this growth, with a massive influx of supporters from across the globe, boosting passenger flows and the tourism sector.
Casablanca and Marrakech Reach Historic Milestones
Casablanca’s airport exceeded 11 million passengers by December, solidifying its position as both a national and continental hub, while Marrakech surpassed the 10 million annual passengers mark for the first time, enhancing its reputation as an international tourist platform.
Rabat-Salé and the Dynamics of Regional Airports
Rabat-Salé Airport experienced exceptional growth of 26%, crossing the 2 million passenger threshold, illustrating its institutional and economic potential. Other regional airports, such as Essaouira, Béni Mellal, Errachidia, and Laâyoune, also recorded significant increases thanks to investments, the opening of new routes, and tourism development.
Traffic Distribution among Major Hubs
Traffic remains concentrated in five key airports: Casablanca (32%), Marrakech (28%), Agadir (10%), with Tanger and Rabat experiencing respective growth rates of 17% and 26% compared to 2024. This distribution reflects a gradual rebalancing and a better territorial integration of Morocco’s air network.
A Coordinated and Effective National Strategy
These achievements demonstrate the effective coordination of ONDA with sector partners, including the Ministry of the Interior, National Security, the Royal Gendarmerie, the Customs and Indirect Taxes Administration, as well as the Ministry of Transport and Logistics.
Towards 2030: Enhanced Competitiveness and Attractiveness
The “Airport 2030” strategy is manifested in tailored infrastructure, an optimized passenger experience, and enhanced connectivity. Morocco’s airport network is solidifying its foundations, supporting territorial economic development, and sustainably accompanying the growth of air traffic towards 2030.
