Central African Republic: General Elections Scheduled for December 28, 2025

The National Election Authority (ANE) of the Central African Republic has announced that general elections will take place on December 28, 2025. This election will include the first round of the presidential election, legislative elections, as well as regional and municipal elections.
The submission of candidacies is scheduled from October 2 to October 11, while the electoral campaign will run from December 13 to December 26. According to the timeline established by the ANE, the provisional results of the presidential and legislative elections’ first round will be published on January 5, 2026.
The outgoing president, Faustin-Archange Touadéra, officially announced his candidacy for a third term at the end of July. Thanks to the new Constitution adopted in 2023, he is now eligible to run again. Having first been elected in 2016 and re-elected in 2020, the head of state hopes to extend his mandate at the helm of the country.
