Al Arjat 1 Denies Hunger Strike by Detainee M.Z.

Al Arjat: Local Prison Authorities Deny Hunger Strike Claims

The management of Al Arjat 1 prison confirmed on Wednesday that inmate M.Z is not engaged in any hunger strike, contradicting allegations circulated in a statement attributed to his family and shared across various news outlets.

In an official clarification, the prison emphasized that it had previously addressed this issue in a statement dated November 24, 2025, asserting that reports concerning a purported deterioration in the inmate’s health due to a hunger strike were false and unfounded.

According to the same source, the inmate has never expressed any intention to initiate a hunger strike. He receives his meals regularly and purchases food items from the prison shop. Furthermore, the inmate stated that he would never submit a hunger strike notification, believing that such an act would intentionally jeopardize his life, which contradicts his religious convictions.

The management highlighted that the ongoing dissemination of false allegations by the inmate’s family, supported by certain parties seeking to manipulate the situation, is aimed at misleading the public and influencing the course of the trial, without regard for the potential health risks this may pose to the individual in question.

The facility assures that the inmate is enjoying all the rights guaranteed by law, including access to medical care, the right to family visits, the ability to communicate with his lawyer, and contact with loved ones.

The management warns the inmate’s family and involved parties against continuing these practices deemed irresponsible and unethical, urging respect for the truth and adherence to legal frameworks.
