Lalla Takerkoust Trail: A Memorable Edition in the Heart of Nature

This weekend, the Trail of Lake Lalla Takerkoust provided an unforgettable experience for participants from around the world, set against a magical backdrop where the blue sky and snow-capped Atlas Mountains mirrored in the crystal-clear waters of the lake.
The event kicked off on Saturday with the Kids Trail, a charitable 3 km race for the children of the village of Takerkoust, allowing them to discover the values of trail running and get introduced to this discipline. Sunday saw the intensity ramp up with races of 42 km, 21 km, and 10 km, bringing together high-level athletes and nature running enthusiasts alike.
In the 42 km race, Ayyoub Ahmed (Morocco) and Stone Claire (UK) led the competition, followed closely by Rouami Youssef and Cheikh Lahlou Radia (Morocco), as well as Ihazmad Noureddine (Morocco) and Bechu Jourdain Hélène (France).
For the 21 km, the winners were Benbella Hassan (Morocco) and Ehret Marine (France), followed by El Ferenani Abdessamad (Morocco) and Bradescu Ioana (Romania), and then Ettaiffi Hicham and El Fassi Fadoua (Morocco).
Finally, in the 10 km race, the victors were Ajoudar Hassan and Hamim Fatiha (Morocco), followed by Abdelaali Id Boussalem and Karaoui Malika (Morocco), and Youssef Fannane and Zennari Hanane (Morocco).
Beyond the athletic challenge, this event was also marked by a remarkable ecological commitment, with 150 kg of waste collected along the course over the three days, emphasizing the importance of respecting the environment while practicing trail running.
The Trail of Lake Lalla Takerkoust was not just a sporting event, but a true human adventure, embodying the values of solidarity, sharing, and self-surpassing.
