Strong Rainfall and Wind Gusts Expected Across Several Regions in Morocco

The General Directorate of Meteorology predicts heavy downpours and sustained rainfall, accompanied by powerful wind gusts, starting this Tuesday and continuing through Thursday in various regions of Morocco.

In an orange-level alert bulletin, the Directorate indicates that rainfall amounts between 60 and 95 mm are expected in the provinces of Chefchaouen, Tétouan, and Larache. Meanwhile, accumulations ranging from 40 to 60 mm will affect Taounate, Al Hoceima, Ouazzane, Sefrou, Taza, Fahs-Anjra, Tanger-Assilah, M’diq-Fnideq, and Ifrane, occurring from Tuesday noon until Thursday midnight.

The Directorate also forecasts strong wind gusts, reaching speeds of 75 to 95 km/h, particularly impacting Chefchaouen, Berkane, Fahs-Anjra, Al Hoceima, Oujda-Angad, Nador, Guercif, Driouch, M’diq, Fnideq, Tétouan, Taourirt, Boulemane, Taza, Moulay Yacoub, Tata, Ouarzazate, Figuig, Jerada, Ouazzane, Tanger-Assilah, Taroudant, Tiznit, Sidi Slimane, Sidi Kacem, Larache, Taounate, Tinghir, Kénitra, El Hajeb, Ifrane, Midelt, Meknès, Fès, and Sefrou, from Tuesday noon until Thursday midnight.

Gusts of 70 to 80 km/h are also expected this Tuesday, from noon until 6 PM, in the provinces and prefectures of Mohammedia, Sidi Bennour, Casablanca, Benslimane, Berrechid, Rabat, Salé, Témara-Skhirat, El Jadida, Safi, Nouaceur, and Mediouna.
