U.S. President Donald Trump Announces Deployment of Naval Forces to Secure Strait of Hormuz

On Saturday, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that naval forces from several countries will be deployed in the Strait of Hormuz to ensure the safety and accessibility of this strategic maritime passage.

“Many nations, particularly those affected by Iran’s attempt to close the Strait of Hormuz, will send warships—together with the United States—to keep the strait open and secure,” the President stated on his Truth Social platform, without specifying which countries would participate or their numbers.

Despite the fact that Iran’s military capabilities have been “100% annihilated,” the nation can still “send one or two drones, drop a mine, or fire a short-range missile somewhere along this waterway—or inside it—no matter how heavily they have been defeated,” the White House occupant noted.

He expressed hope that China, France, Japan, South Korea, the United Kingdom, and other nations facing this artificial constraint would “dispatch ships to the region, so that the Strait of Hormuz no longer poses a threat from a nation that has been completely decapitated.”

In the meantime, Trump emphasized that the United States will continue to “relentlessly strike the coastline and sink Iranian boats and ships,” assuring that the Strait of Hormuz will soon become “open, safe, and free in one way or another.”

President Trump had stated on Friday that the U.S. Navy would begin “very soon” to escort oil tankers through the Strait of Hormuz, a critical route through which 20% of the world’s oil production transits.
