SMS Inviting Citizens to Pay Traffic Fines… NARSA Provides Clarifications

The National Road Safety Agency (NARSA) has denied sending SMS messages containing a link to its site for the payment of traffic fines, asserting that it is a fraudulent link.
“Following the recent dissemination of voice messages indicating that some citizens received SMS messages containing a link to the NARSA website for the payment of fines related to infractions detected by fixed speed cameras, the National Road Safety Agency informs all citizens that it does not offer any such service and has absolutely no connection to these SMS messages,” stated a press release from the agency.
Furthermore, the mentioned website is fake and impersonates an official service that does not fall within the range of digital services provided by NARSA to its users, the source added.
In this regard, NARSA urges all citizens and road users to exercise utmost vigilance towards such SMS messages or suspicious electronic links, refraining from clicking on them and verifying the addresses of official websites.
The Agency also calls on all users to neither enter nor share any personal information or sensitive data, particularly banking information or passwords on these suspicious sites. It recommends that any suspicious activity or incidents connected to this matter be reported immediately to the relevant authorities,” concluded the press release.
