Qatar Welcomes Announcement of Ceasefire in Lebanon and Calls for Strengthening Calm

The State of Qatar welcomed the announcement of a ceasefire in Lebanon, calling it “a first step towards de-escalation and a reduction of tensions in the region.”

In a statement, the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized “the necessity of fully respecting this ceasefire and quickly building upon this progress to solidify the calm and prevent any escalation.”

Doha also expressed its “appreciation for the efforts of U.S. President Donald Trump, whose mediation contributed to the success of this agreement.”

Furthermore, Qatar conveyed its hope that “this initiative will support regional and international efforts aimed at establishing comprehensive, just, and lasting peace in the region.”

Earlier, the American president announced an agreement between Israel and Lebanon for a ten-day truce, as part of efforts to “establish peace” between the two parties.
