Two Ships Depart Iran and Navigate the Strait of Hormuz Despite American Blockade

According to data from maritime tracking company Kpler, at least two vessels that departed from Iranian ports crossed the Strait of Hormuz on Monday, April 14, 2026, despite the ongoing U.S. military blockade in the region.

The same sources report that the cargo ship Christiana, flying the Liberian flag, navigated through the strait after offloading its corn shipment at Imam Khomeini port. It passed near Larak Island around 4:00 PM GMT, shortly after the blockade took effect.

Data also reveal that a second vessel, the oil tanker Elpis, registered under the Comoros flag, was near Larak Island around 11:00 AM GMT before exiting the strait by 4:00 PM GMT.

These movements occur amid heightened tensions surrounding the Strait of Hormuz, a strategic maritime passage critical for global oil and goods transportation.
