Weather in Morocco: Persistent Heat, Localized Thunderstorms, and Strong Winds This Monday
Milder Conditions Expected Across Morocco on Monday
The General Directorate of Meteorology forecasts that Monday will continue to bring warm weather to several regions of the Kingdom, notably in the Moulouya Valley, the Tadla and Rehamna plains, Chiadma, Souss region, Southeast, and the Southern provinces.
According to the weather predictions, low clouds accompanied by misty formations or light drizzle may develop locally along the Atlantic coast, particularly during the morning.
Thunderstorm cells are also expected to form over the High Atlas mountains and their eastern slopes, as well as in the southern Oriental region and the northeastern Saharan provinces, potentially leading to scattered showers and localized thunderstorms.
Moreover, moderate to fairly strong gusts of wind are anticipated over the central plains and coasts, the Atlas mountain ranges, the Southeast, the Oriental region, and the Southern provinces. In certain areas, these winds might be accompanied by sandstorms.
Minimum temperatures will range between 30 and 36°C in Chiadma, the Souss region, the Southeast, and the northern Southern provinces. In contrast, temperatures will vary between 16 and 21°C in the Atlas mountains and near the coast, while they will be between 25 and 30°C in the rest of the country.
Throughout the day, maximum temperatures are expected to continue rising in the Southern provinces, Southeast, and southern regions of Oriental, while a slight decrease is anticipated in other regions of the Kingdom.
As for maritime conditions, the sea will be calm to slightly agitated in the Mediterranean and the Strait of Gibraltar, slightly agitated north of Asfi, and generally slightly to moderately agitated along the rest of Morocco’s coastline.
