The FBI Commends the Effectiveness of Moroccan Security at the 2026 World Cup

The Moroccan security delegation mobilized to help secure the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States has received commendations from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for its involvement in the international security cooperation framework established for the event.

The FBI sent a message of appreciation to the Moroccan police officers dispatched to the U.S. by the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) and the General Directorate for Territory Surveillance (DGST) to participate in the work of the “International Security Cooperation Center,” which was set up alongside the World Cup matches.

The document, signed by the FBI director, highlights the professionalism, skills, and experience demonstrated by the members of the Moroccan delegation throughout their mission, particularly in the area of securing major sporting events.

Morocco’s contribution also included managing supporter attendance, facilitating the movement of spectators, and supporting efforts to ensure the safety of the matches and related venues.

This recognition comes as part of efforts to strengthen security cooperation between Morocco and its international partners, particularly regarding the security of major sporting events, and underscores the participation of Moroccan security services in international mechanisms dedicated to the protection of large-scale gatherings.
