Kuwait Condemns Iranian Attacks on Its Vital Installations

Kuwait Condemns Attacks on Vital Installations and Calls for Immediate Cessation of Hostilities

Kuwait has expressed its strong condemnation and profound indignation regarding the attacks that targeted its vital installations on Thursday evening. According to Kuwaiti authorities, these acts represent a blatant violation of its sovereignty and airspace, as well as a disregard for international law, humanitarian law, and the United Nations Charter.

Tensions Threatening De-escalation Efforts

In a statement, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that the continuation of these attacks, attributed to Iran and its allies, undermines regional and international efforts that recently led to the announcement of a ceasefire between the United States and Iran. Kuwait views these actions as a direct challenge to the international community.

Call for Immediate Cessation of Hostilities

Kuwaiti authorities have insisted on the urgent need to compel Iran and its allies to immediately and unconditionally halt all hostile actions directed at Kuwait and other countries in the region, in accordance with the provisions of Security Council Resolution 2817.

Affirmation of the Right to Self-Defense

The Ministry also reaffirmed Kuwait’s commitment to its legitimate right to self-defense, in line with Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, highlighting that the country will take all necessary measures to preserve its sovereignty, security, and stability.

Ongoing Attacks Despite Ceasefire

It is noteworthy that Kuwait continues to suffer attacks on its vital infrastructure, despite the announcement of a ceasefire between Washington and Tehran, raising concerns about the stability of the region.
