Tehran Calls on Washington to Abandon Its “Excessive Demands”

Iran Urges U.S. to Reconsider Stance Amid Stalled Middle East Peace Negotiations
On Monday, Iran called on the United States to reconsider its position and reduce what it describes as "excessive demands" amid a stalemate in negotiations aimed at ending the conflict in the Middle East.
A Tense Diplomatic Discourse
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei stated, in remarks covered by state media, that Iran’s immediate priority is to bring an end to the conflict. He urged the U.S. to adopt a "reasonable" approach and to step back from its demands deemed excessive towards Tehran.
References to Past Negotiations
The Iranian official also emphasized that the country cannot ignore the "lessons of the past," recalling that Iran has previously engaged in negotiations regarding its nuclear program, during which it felt targeted by actions attributed to the United States.
Persistently High Regional Tensions
These statements come as tensions remain high in the region, with ongoing international efforts to revive dialogue and prevent further escalation of the conflict.
