Moroccan Cucumber Exports to Germany Increase by 10%

Moroccan Cucumber Exports to Germany Continue to Rise in 2025/2026

Direct exports of Moroccan cucumbers to the German market have continued to grow during the 2025/2026 season. According to the specialized portal EastFruit, Morocco exported nearly 3,900 tons of cucumbers to Germany between July 2025 and March 2026, with a value exceeding 8 million euros—a 10% increase compared to the previous season.

Data also reveal a remarkable surge in Moroccan exports in recent years, with volumes multiplying by 28 compared to the 2021/2022 season.

German demand for Moroccan cucumbers remains robust throughout the year, peaking between November and February. December 2025 notably stood out as the most dynamic month of the season, with imports nearing 1,000 tons.

While Spain and the Netherlands remain the primary suppliers of cucumbers to the German market, accounting for over 80% of total imports, Morocco continues to strengthen its presence. Its market share increased from 0.5% in the previous season to 0.8% during the first nine months of the 2025/2026 season.

According to EastFruit, the actual presence of Moroccan cucumbers in Germany is even greater than official statistics suggest, as some of the volumes are re-exported via Spain to various European markets, including Germany.

This growth underscores the increasing ambition of Moroccan exporters to access Northern European markets directly, without always relying on traditional European distribution platforms.

These achievements reflect the positive momentum in Morocco’s cucumber sector, which has already recorded record export levels during the 2024/2025 season.
