Bolloré Logistics Africa: Legal Proceedings Targeting Five Banks Over the Group’s Divestment
A legal action has been initiated against five banking institutions in connection with the sale of Bolloré Logistics in Africa, a strategic move that marked the Bolloré Group’s exit from its logistics operations on the continent.
According to reported information, this lawsuit emerges amid disputes regarding the terms of the divestiture of the group’s former African branch, which was sold in 2022 to the MSC Group for an estimated sum of several billion euros.
The plaintiffs, organized in groups and collectives, argue that certain financial operations related to this transaction might be linked to alleged corruption incidents associated with the group’s previous port and logistics activities in Africa.
The legal action targets several international banks involved in the structuring or financing of the operation, within a broader context where authorities are scrutinizing the creation of value and the traceability of funds arising from this sale.
This new judicial phase adds to a series of existing legal proceedings surrounding the Bolloré Group’s historical activities in Africa, particularly in the port sector, where allegations of irregular practices have been investigated in recent years.
The case remains under investigation and falls within a larger framework of litigation related to logistics and port management activities in West Africa.
